Product Introduction

Humidifier for woodshop industry humidification is very important. Wood is a hygroscopic material, that absorbes or releases water depending on the relative humidity. In high relative humidity conditions, wood absorbes humidity, until obtaining the same level of the surrounding air.

The people working in the woodworking field often encounter manufacturing problems caused by dry air. These problems can include warping, shrinkage, and painting, as well as various static-based problems. These will affect work efficiency and product quality, which will directly cut profits.

Maintaining proper relative humidity (RH) throughout the entire storage process of shipping, storage, fabrication, finishing and finished products will have a major impact on the moisture content of wood.

Most wood works start with kiln-dried wood with a moisture content of 6 to 11 percent. Wood is hygroscopic and, depending on the humidity level, absorbs and releases moisture easily. Storage and processing in a humidity stable environment ensures that the wood remains dimensionally stable and manufacturing problems are reduced or even avoided. However, to maintain 11% moisture content in kiln-dried wood, an RH rating of 55% to 60% is required.

After heating the air, the humidity level is usually reduced to 10% RH or less. Relative humidity below 40% reduces the moisture content in the wood and causes changes in wood dimensions. Dimensional variation affects all aspects of lumber dimensions. Wood blanks or parts may shrink, warp, and split from air drying, rendering the wood unsuitable for planing. Once wood is damaged, it is often impossible to correct it.

Static problems can occur in woodworking environments when dry air makes surfaces electrostatically charged. It causes various problems, including dust fires and static explosions. In some cases, static electricity can also affect how paint and topcoats adhere to the wood.

Gluing and lamination are common problems. Adhesives generally do not cure completely uniformly in dry conditions. Dry air often causes glued joints to separate, or the veneer to pop off the base wood as the size changes or the debris twists or "pops".

If the wood is further processed, the air humidity of the processing environment can be properly controlled. A reasonable level of humidification can also help employees who process wood maintain a healthy work environment. Air humidification binds wood chips and prevents them from circulating in the surrounding air, allowing occupants to work in healthier spaces with less dust pollution.
