What causes the ink drying speed to be substandard?

There are many reasons for the slow drying speed of the ink, such as the temperature of the production environment is too low, the nature of the ink itself, and the problems of additives, etc., and the humidity of the air is also an important factor. The more humid the air, the slower the drying speed of the ink.

Air humidity reasons:

1. The air humidity in the workshop is too high: the production environment is too humid, and the ink releases water vapor into the air at a slower rate during the drying process. This is also the main reason why printing plants in southern my country are prone to smudges on the back during the rainy season. Before the product in front is dry, the product in the back is pressed up, so that the pattern and text will appear on the back of the product in the back.

2. High water content of paper: high air humidity, paper water content will also increase, because paper is very hydrophilic, so it will prevent the penetration of ink and reduce the oxidative drying ability. At this time, the fibers produced are in a relaxed state, and the capillary The pores are full of water molecules, so the penetration ability of the ink is reduced, and the paper cannot absorb the ink well, so the drying speed of the ink will be slowed down, resulting in the phenomenon of smearing on the back.

3. The humidity of the ink increases: In a high-humidity environment, the ink offset on the paper is in an emulsified state, and it is easy to absorb the water vapor in the air. So that the evaporation speed of the ink is slowed down, the ink drying rate is also reduced.

 Therefore, in the production process of offset printing, once it is found that the drying speed of the ink is caused by the humid production environment, it is necessary to find a way for dehumidification.
